Thankful and other tid-bits..

So, today is 'wash car Wednesday'--no, not really, but we do seem to wash my car on Wednesday evenings...so K and I are washing(which really means, I patiently wait on her 'turn', then go behind her and 'polish' it up a bit:), I go to the porch to grab a towel, and notice a little nature taking place. So, K being the little 'nature girl'(as my dad, her Pop calls her), comes over after I call her to watch the nature. It is 2 lizards fighting..seriously! They are not your average yard/garden lizards either, I mean these are some biggins'! 1 is a little larger than the other. I pretty much figure it's a mating thing, and there is bound to be a female lurking somewhere in the near vicinity...So K says, "why do you think they are fighting?" and I answered, "there must be a girlfriend near by, and it's causing a problem". K turns to me and says, "oh, they are fighting over a wife?, The poor thing, maybe I can try and find her and let her run away." :) So, I go onto finish the 1/2 finished project that she has long by now abandoned...a few min later(she is still determined to watch the fight, and let me know each time someone strikes at the other...) She finally spots the female(we are guessing) and says, 'Momma, I think I've found her, and she is way too young for the big old, ugly grandpa lizard.' So, I am smiling by now, b/c who said it's a grandpa?...I asked why she thinks it's too old and a grandpa? She just shrugs, does a cart wheel and said, 'Mom, I've been around long enough to know when it's not going to work'. And that is that. Conversation over. She goes on busying herself with perfecting her cartwheels, and the car washing project is now over as far as she was concerned..:) She is adorable! So, I today I am thankful for innocence, cartwheels in the yard, and our dueling lizards. I am thankful that God has entrusted me with the 2 most perfect-imperfect beings I have ever laid eyes on.~e

being sick sucks!!!

you know, I think we ALL really do forget how bad it really, really sucks to be sick...until we become sick! Yes, that's right--I have a *wonderful* summer cold, flu, whatever! It is awful. My head hurts, I cannot breathe w/ my nose, )therefore, I am taking a huge risk every time I decide to eat!), my eyes hurt, my body hurts, you get the picture, right?....I could go on, if you would like... So today I took a coma nap. You all know the one-the TV is blaring, the light streaming through the blinds is hitting your eyes at just the right spot, but yet, you continue to sleep on...Then when you do finally come to, you just lay there, like thinking, did I forget something? The kids maybe? But, you really don't care. You have managed to sleep 3++ hours, the TV (still blaring) on Rachael Ray (almost over by now), the light has now shifted (b/c it was hitting your eyes like, 2 1/2 hrs ago), and you have missed 3 calls, and 2 texts. This is my day in a nut shell. Now, since it's already almost Wednesday-my 'Thankful' post day, I will pray tonight that my 'thankful' post will be how much better I am feeling!~e

Here we go!

So, my youngest, K, started her riding lessons on Saturday morning. She was quiet as a mouse, but she is very shy by nature, and needs 'time' to warm up...give her a few more weeks, and she will talk the instructors ears off! :) It was so adorable watching her...these pics are somewhat in a backwards fashion as far as order of events goes...but you get the idea. They teach not just the riding, but also the care and responsibility of the horse. You can all be certain, that I will post weekly "riding" updates on her progress!~e

I forgot...

I forgot to post the pic of Mr. E----the new baby!(all the writing from the previous post clogged my ability to think clearly...!)

okay,okay...I'm back!

Well~yes, I have been a little MIA, but in my defense-we've had a busy last few days! Let me recap: Thursday A.M. the kiddies both had dentist appts., another words, I will be buying something very nice for someone(maybe the kids of the dentist, his wife..?..) after I am done paying for everything!'C' had sealants on all his teeth, b/c all of his teeth are now permanent. Also, he had his 'partial' replaced. Let me explain the history of his '2 front teeth'...when he was 4, he had his 2 front teeth knocked "up & forward" not out. So, I took him in and they were taken out that very day. He was 4. He had no '2 front teeth' for a little over 2 years, due to them coming out prematurely. People warned me that he would have terrible speech issues once the adult teeth came in, this has never happened. Fast forward a few years later. The summer between his, oh maybe 2nd-3rd grade year, he was at the Y summer program that he attended that year while I was at work, his adult teeth were in by now, and looked great(and talked great too). I got a call at me desk 1 afternoon, that 'C' had been in a pool-ball accident and needed medical, er dental attention STAT!So, I rushed there(in @ 3min record time). Took him to the dentist, and we talked about our options...his 2 new finally in front teeth had not come out, but broken. The L broke straight across, as if you cut the bottom portion completely off. The R had broken similar, only more at an angle. So, therefore, the partial piece came to be. We now have this replaced about every 1 1/2 yrs or as needed(like when he bit into a popcorn kernel). It gets discolored easily, so this causes need for replacement as well...no corn on the cob(must shave the corn off the cob, no apples, carrots, pears, you get the idea...). So, that was kid #1. Kid #2 has awful teeth. Poor baby has at least 2+cavities every time we visit--well, maybe not every 6 month cleaning, but at least once a year!!'K' had to have 2 baby back teeth pulled. 1 of them had a previous filling that had fallen out, therefore she had a HOLE in her tooth for a bit(I never even knew about this...she said she told me, and I ignored her!). Sooooooo......we had those 2 teeth pulled, and that was not exactly minor.Very painful, and ALOT of bleeding...as well as soft food for 24 hrs.We go back in 3 weeks to have the spacers put in where the teeth once were...this way her teeth don't push forward and jack her grill up! But, I am happy to report--she had NO CAVITIES!!! :) So, when I say that I am buying the dentist a new boat, or jet skis, this is why!!!!

So people, that was just my Thursday. Friday was busy, but normal. Kids had family fun night at their school. So, I volunteered to work the early shift, this way A.)I could leave work a little early:) and B.)I was not working the last shift, which always turns into clean up crew as well. It was good--very hot!

Saturday: We started off by attending me good friend 'N's oldest kiddies flag fb game! He was so cute! He also has an little sis who is ADORABLE!!! I could just scoop her up and eat her little cheeks off-if she would just let me get close enough. She was interested in us-but from a distance...she will warm up...give her time. Aunt E will buy her little heart if I have to;)! After the game, we rushed to my parent's. Dropped off 'C' and 'K' and I changed real quick and we headed to my friend 'L's to her jewelry party she hosted. I had never been to a lia sophia party before. It was good, of course we saw many items that we need, but due to my current financial status(lack of) I was a good girl and only purchased 1 item a piece for myself and 'K'...I could always reach L's friend if needed ;).So, last time L was on my blog she was pregnant, and ready to POP!!! Well, I am posting a lil' pic of the little guy that finally POPPED OUT! He is PRECIOUS!!! He really does look like a little boy! Such a sweetie! So, in the afternoon we were just home, and it was great! In the eve we went and picked up K's friend MK to stay the P.M. w/ us...she and K are great friends, and I've know both her parents FOREVER! Seriously, her dad was in my kindergarten class, and I was in their wedding...so she calls me Aunt E, and K calls her mom Aunt K...etc...Sooooo......we are not going to church this A.M. This makes me feel bad...I want to go, but at the same time, I knew if I went this A.M. I would never get the laundry done, sweeping/mopping done..you get the picture. C has a party this afternoon that we will drop him off to. Luckily it is just a few miles away, and I'll pick him up when it's over. His friend called him just a bit ago, and asked if we could swing buy and give him a ride to the party, so we will do that also....dang I'm busy!Busy doing a lot of little things---added up to become BIG!A few pics from the weekend(sorry about this SUPER LONG POST!!)~e

Typical Tuesday..

Not a whole lot to report on today--I guess it is appropriate to title this "typical Tuesday" b/c indeed-very normal. My mom had a jewelry party tonight that me and 'K' went to. She held it in the conf. room at her office due to my brother(3 1/2 yrs younger) and his somewhat "mentally challenged" dog Meyer live at home(my parent's) for the moment...seriously, he might be slow-according to a vet..So, anyhoo, it was good. I bought a few necessary items, but nothing really extravagant. I work all week this week, but on Thursday A.M. my kiddies have an dentist appt-I think the dentist wants me to buy him newer, updated jet skis this summer, apparently the payment I gave him a few yrs ago did not quite cover newer, improved models. ;) I hope to have more exciting news for you all tommorrow...b/c this post is not too exciting..e

weekend recap

Okay~well a pretty uneventful weekend on my end. I did get my kids early on Sunday(for those of you who were worried--you can now sleep well tonight ;)). Since Rob's b-day was somewhat over looked due to my pinning, we celebrated on Saturday afternoon by going to the 8th Annual Bob Marley Reggae Fest @ Citywalk-Orlando. For those of you who are unaware--Rob is a HUGE Reggae Fan! I know, I know what you are all thinking..."WTH, Rob likes reggae?" And the answer is-yes he really does. He loves it in fact. So, for his bday I tried to be a good sport and good gf by getting the tickets and going w/o much complaining. It was HOT,HOT,HOT!!! So disgustingly so, that we did not have a picture made of us at the concert..it was not pretty-I can assure you.e

Blessed!

I am a few short days away from my pinning ceremony to become pinned as an Graduate Registered Nurse--3 days to be exact, but who's counting...ME!!! I am SO,SO BLESSED to have set a goal and have actually achieved it! It has been the hardest thing I've ever, ever, EVER set out to do. I give all of the glory to GOD.He had a plan for me, even when I was doubting myself, He kept me going. I am so fortunate to have had such an awesome support group of family and friends. I would call friends (sometimes crying) telling them I could not do it-they always reassured me that I could do it--in fact I was doing it! I must say through it all----I give GOD THE GLORY!e
